Newsletter from the ENBEL project October 2023
This newsletter brings you the conclusions and main outputs and material from the ENBEL policy conference Health impacts of climate change: Advancing the European Adaptation Agenda to 2030 that took place in Brussels 19 September. It contributed to strengthening cross-sector collaboration on climate change and health by bringing together climate change and health researchers, practitioners, decision-makers from different levels and different geographies to share evidence of health impacts of climate change and discuss how we can take action to protect people’s health and advance the European adaptation agenda.
Key take-aways from the conference:
1. The urgency to act on climate change health impacts – in Europe as well as across the world
2. Anticipate, prepare and prevent - adaptation and mitigation need to go hand in hand for the protection of human health
Health needs to be at the core of climate action – both adaptation and mitigation action
