Networking
Networking and coordination among researchers and stakeholders within the climate and health nexus
Through networking and coordination activities, ENBEL will mainstream climate change into health conferences and vice versa, thereby accelerating the convergence between climate change and health research and policymaking.
The aim is to increase the involvement of Belmont Forum and relevant Horizon 2020 partner projects on climate, environment and health in relevant research and policy networks, conferences and workshops, and to receive input from and improve the flow of information and knowledge on climate change and health among stakeholders and target groups, with a focus on low-and middle- income countries.
We will:
coordinate and support inputs of the Belmont Forum climate, environment and health and associated H2020 projects into conferences and meetings on 1) climate change, 2) health and 3) climate change and health;
establish an Eastern and Southern African Regional Coordination and Support Mechanism (RCSM) that aims to bring together key climate change, environment and health stakeholders in Eastern and Southern Africa;
convene workshops in low-and middle-income countries focusing on integrating climate and health issues into climate change adaptation and resilience policy planning;
establish webinars and workshops on the thematic areas of the project to enable further cross-fertilization of research exchange, stakeholder engagement and co-creation of knowledge;
set up a library of training courses and training material on climate change and health;
establish a Belmont Forum Conference on Climate Change and Health.
